99 Nights In The Forest Review & Gameplay Guide
I just finished playing 99 Nights In The Forest and I'm still trying to process the whole experience. I mean, this game is definitely not for everyone - it's super weird and can be pretty frustrating at times, but at the same time, it's got this weird charm that just draws you in. The premise is pretty simple: you're stuck in this creepy forest and you have to survive for 99 nights, fending off monsters and collecting resources to craft new gear and stuff. Sounds easy enough, right? Wrong.
The thing is, the forest is full of these random events and enemies that can just totally ruin your night. Like, you'll be collecting berries or whatever, and then suddenly this giant spider thing will come out of nowhere and start chasing you. And the combat system is pretty clunky, so you'll often find yourself running away from fights just because it's not worth the risk of dying. But at the same time, when you do manage to take down a tough enemy or complete a difficult night, it's this huge rush of satisfaction. It's like, yes, I did it, I survived another night in this crazy forest.
One thing that really impressed me about 99 Nights In The Forest is the atmosphere. The game's got this super creepy, tense vibe that just makes you feel like you're really there, stuck in the woods with no way out. The sound design is amazing, with all these little noises and sounds that just make you feel like you're being watched. And the visuals are pretty cool too, with this neat pixel art style that's both retro and creepy at the same time. It's not the most polished game, but it's definitely got its own unique style.
Now, I know some people are going to be turned off by the game's difficulty and the fact that it can be pretty repetitive at times. And yeah, I get it, it's not the most accessible game in the world. But for me, the challenge was part of the fun. I loved the feeling of slowly progressing through the nights, unlocking new gear and abilities that just made it a little bit easier to survive. And the game's got this neat system where you can unlock new characters with their own unique abilities, which adds a whole new layer of replayability to the game.
I'm not going to lie, there were times when I got super frustrated with 99 Nights In The Forest. Like, I'd die for the tenth time in a row on the same night, and I'd just want to throw my controller across the room. But at the same time, I couldn't help but feel this weird sense of attachment to the game. Maybe it's because I'm a glutton for punishment, or maybe it's because the game just has this weird, quirky charm that I couldn't resist. Either way, I'm glad I stuck with it, because it was definitely an experience I won't forget anytime soon.
Overall, I'd say 99 Nights In The Forest is a game that's definitely worth checking out, but only if you're in the right mindset. It's not for the faint of heart, and it's definitely not the most polished game in the world. But if you're looking for something that's a little bit different, a little bit challenging, and a whole lot creepy, then you might just find yourself falling in love with this weird, quirky game. Just don't say I didn't warn you - it's a wild ride, and it's not always an easy one.
