I just spent the last few hours playing Extreme Monster Truck and I have to say, it's a pretty mixed bag. On the one hand, I love the idea of crushing cars and tearing up tracks in a giant monster truck - it's a simple concept, but it's also super fun. The game delivers on that front, with some really satisfying crunching sounds and visuals that are pretty nice, if a bit rough around the edges. But on the other hand, the game is also pretty shallow and lacking in depth, which is a bit of a bummer.

The gameplay is basically just a series of timed events where you have to drive your truck around a track, smashing into things and collecting power-ups. It's not particularly challenging, and the tracks are all pretty similar, so it gets a bit repetitive after a while. The trucks themselves are also pretty generic - there are a few different ones to choose from, but they all handle pretty much the same, so it doesn't really feel like you're getting a unique experience with each one. I was hoping for a bit more variety and customization options, but sadly, they're not really there.

One thing that did surprise me about Extreme Monster Truck is the physics engine. It's actually pretty solid, and the way the trucks interact with the environment is really believable. When you smash into something, it feels like it should, and the trucks themselves feel nice and heavy, like they have some real weight and momentum behind them. It's not perfect, but it's definitely one of the highlights of the game. I also appreciated the fact that the game doesn't take itself too seriously - it's just a fun, over-the-top experience, and it knows it.

But despite the fun I had with Extreme Monster Truck, I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of content. There are only a handful of tracks, and the career mode is pretty short - I was able to finish it in just a few hours. There's also no multiplayer mode, which is a bit of a shame, since I think it would be a lot of fun to compete against other players. The game also has some pretty annoying sound effects - the music is catchy, but the voice acting is super cheesy, and the sound effects for the trucks themselves are a bit grating.

Overall, I'd say that Extreme Monster Truck is a fun but flawed game. If you're a fan of monster trucks or just looking for a mindless, fun experience, you might get a kick out of it. But if you're looking for something with a bit more depth or substance, you might want to look elsewhere. The game is pretty cheap, so it's not like you'll be breaking the bank or anything, but I still think it's worth being aware of the limitations before you buy. With a bit more content and some more attention to detail, this could have been a really great game - as it is, it's just an okay one.

I think the developers have some potential, though - with a bit more work, they could turn Extreme Monster Truck into something really special. As it is, it's just a fun little time-waster, but it's not something that's going to keep you coming back for a long time. I'd be interested to see what they do next, though - maybe they'll take some of the criticisms of this game to heart and create something really amazing. Until then, I'd say Extreme Monster Truck is worth a look if you're a fan of the genre, but it's not a must-play by any stretch of the imagination.
