Rabbit Portal Review & Gameplay Guide
I just finished playing through Rabbit Portal and I have to say, it was a wild ride. I went into it not really knowing what to expect, I'd seen a few trailers and screenshots but that was about it. The game's premise is pretty simple, you play as a rabbit who's been transported to a strange world and you have to navigate through various levels to find a way back home. Sounds easy enough, right? But trust me, it's not as simple as it sounds.
The gameplay in Rabbit Portal is all about exploration and puzzle solving. You'll spend most of your time running around, jumping over obstacles, and using this weird portal gun thing to get from one place to another. The portal gun is actually really cool, it allows you to transport yourself between two points in the level, which is necessary to solve a lot of the puzzles. But it's not just about solving puzzles, the game also has a strong focus on platforming, and let me tell you, some of the jumps you have to make are pretty tricky.
One of the things that really stood out to me about Rabbit Portal is the atmosphere. The game has this really creepy, eerie feeling to it, which I thought was really well done. The levels are all really well designed, with a great sense of depth and immersion. The sound design is also top notch, with creepy sound effects and a haunting soundtrack that really adds to the overall atmosphere of the game. But despite the creepy atmosphere, the game also has a bit of a sense of humor to it, which I appreciated. The writing is pretty clever and there are some really funny moments throughout the game.
Now, I'm not going to lie, Rabbit Portal isn't perfect. There were a few times where I got really frustrated with the game, usually because I was stuck on a puzzle and couldn't figure out how to solve it. But overall, I thought the game was really well designed, and the challenges were fair. The game also has a really good difficulty curve, it starts off pretty easy and gradually gets harder as you progress through the levels. I also appreciated that the game didn't hold my hand too much, it let me figure things out for myself, which I thought was really refreshing.
I think my favorite thing about Rabbit Portal is the way it makes you think. The puzzles in the game are really clever, and they require you to think creatively and outside the box. I loved the feeling of finally figuring out a puzzle that had been stumping me for ages, it was really satisfying. And the game's final level is just incredible, it's this massive, sprawling puzzle that requires you to use everything you've learned throughout the game. It was really challenging, but it was also really rewarding to finally complete it.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend Rabbit Portal to anyone who's a fan of puzzle games or platformers. It's a really unique and challenging game that's well worth playing. The atmosphere is creepy and immersive, the puzzles are clever and rewarding, and the gameplay is just plain fun. It's not a perfect game, but it's definitely one of the most enjoyable games I've played in a while, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a challenge.
