Terrifying Zombies: Tower Defense II Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last week or so playing Terrifying Zombies: Tower Defense II, and I've got to say, it's been a wild ride. As a fan of tower defense games, I was excited to dive into this one, and for the most part, it didn't disappoint. The game's graphics and sound design are top notch - the zombies are creepy, the towers are sleek, and the music is catchy and intense. The premise is simple: you've got to stop hordes of zombies from reaching the end of the map by building towers to take them down.
One thing that really stood out to me about Terrifying Zombies: Tower Defense II is the variety of towers at your disposal. There are your standard fare - machine guns, cannons, and the like - but there are also some more unique options, like a tower that slows down zombies with a cloud of smoke, or one that zaps them with electricity. This adds a lot of depth to the gameplay, and forces you to think strategically about which towers to build and where to place them. Of course, as with any tower defense game, it can get pretty chaotic as the levels go on and the zombies start coming faster and faster, but that's all part of the fun.
Now, I do have to say that I was a bit disappointed with the game's difficulty curve. At first, the levels are nice and challenging, and you've really got to think carefully about your tower placement to make it through. But as you progress, the difficulty starts to spike pretty sharply, and it can get frustratingly hard. I found myself having to repeat some levels multiple times before I could finally beat them, and that got old pretty quickly. I'm not saying it's impossible, of course - I did eventually make it through - but it's definitely not a game for the faint of heart.
Another thing that's worth mentioning is the game's upgrade system. As you complete levels, you earn points that you can use to upgrade your towers, making them more powerful and effective. This is a great way to add some extra depth to the gameplay, and it's really satisfying to see your towers get stronger and more powerful over time. There are also some special power-ups that you can earn, like a nuke that takes out all the zombies on the screen, or a shield that protects your towers from damage. These are really helpful in a pinch, and they can often mean the difference between winning and losing a level.
Overall, I'd say that Terrifying Zombies: Tower Defense II is a solid game that's definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of the genre. It's not perfect, of course - the difficulty curve can be a bit wonky, and some of the levels can get pretty frustrating. But the gameplay is addictive, the graphics and sound design are great, and the upgrade system is a lot of fun. Plus, it's just really satisfying to mow down hordes of zombies with your trusty towers. If you're looking for a fun, challenging game to play, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a shot.
One final thing I want to mention is the game's replay value. Once you've beaten all the levels, there's not a whole lot to do - you can go back and try to beat them again with different tower combinations, or try to get a higher score, but that's about it. It's not a game that's going to keep you occupied for months on end, unfortunately. Still, it's a fun way to pass the time, and it's definitely worth playing through at least once. So if you're in the mood for a fun, action-packed tower defense game, I'd definitely give Terrifying Zombies: Tower Defense II a try.
