TRAP CURSOR Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last few hours playing TRAP CURSOR and I gotta say, it's been a wild ride. I'd seen a few videos of it online before I picked it up, but nothing really prepares you for the sheer frustration and addictiveness of this game. The basic idea is that you control a cursor that can only move in certain directions, and you have to navigate through these increasingly complex levels without getting caught in traps. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. The levels get ridiculously hard, ridiculously fast.
At first, I was really enjoying the challenge. I mean, it's not every day you play a game that makes you want to throw your controller out the window, but in a good way. The sense of accomplishment when you finally beat a level after 20 or 30 tries is unbeatable. But as I progressed further into the game, I started to feel like the difficulty was becoming more about luck than skill. There are some levels where you literally have to time your movements to the exact frame in order to make it through, and if you mess up, you have to start all over again. It gets old fast.
Despite my frustration, I have to admit that the game is really well-designed. The levels are all cleverly laid out, with multiple paths and secrets to discover. The graphics are simple but effective, and the soundtrack is actually really catchy. I found myself humming the theme song for hours after I stopped playing. The game also has a really strong focus on community, with leaderboards and daily challenges that encourage you to compete with other players. It's a great way to extend the game's replay value, and I can see myself coming back to it again and again.
One thing that did bother me, though, was the lack of variety in the gameplay. I mean, once you've played through a few levels, you've basically seen everything the game has to offer. The mechanics don't really change or evolve as you progress, so it starts to feel a bit repetitive. I also wish there were more options for customization - being able to change the appearance of your cursor or add your own custom levels would be a great addition. As it stands, the game feels a bit barebones.
Overall, I'd say that TRAP CURSOR is a solid, if frustrating, game. If you're the type of player who enjoys a challenge and is willing to put in the time and effort to master the game's mechanics, then you'll probably love it. But if you're looking for something a bit more casual or relaxing, you might want to look elsewhere. I'm glad I played it, but I can see myself getting bored with it eventually. Still, for the price, it's definitely worth a shot - just be prepared to throw your controller out the window a few times.
I'm not sure how much more I'll play TRAP CURSOR in the future, but for now, I'm happy to have it in my library. It's a great game to pick up and play for a few minutes at a time, and the daily challenges will keep me coming back for a while. If the developers add some more features or content in the future, I could see myself getting really into it again. As it stands, though, it's a fun but flawed game that's worth checking out if you're a fan of challenging platformers.
